Weekly Road Closures: Sept. 17-23

The state Department of Transportation issued its weekly list of road and lane closures for Sept. 17-23. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

1) KŌLOA

Roving single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) possible in either direction between mile markers 6.2 and 9.1, vicinity of Weoweopilau Stream and Upa Road, Monday, Sept. 19, through Friday, Sept. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for shoulder grading and grass trimming around guardrails.

Shoulder closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the east (Lihue) bound direction between Hokua Road and Papalina Road, Monday, Sept. 19, through Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

1) LĪHU‘E

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile markers 1 and 2, vicinity of Laukini Road to Hanamaulu Road, Monday, Sept. 19, through Friday, Sept. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for guardrail repair.

2) LĪHU‘E TO WAILUA

ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD

Right lane closure possible on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in either direction between Kapule Highway and Wailua Bridge on Monday, Sept. 19, through Friday, Sept. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass and tree cutting.

3) WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements.

4) ANAHOLA

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile markers 12 and 14, vicinity of Kamalomalo‘o Stream to Aliomanu Road, Monday, Sept. 19, through Friday, Sept. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for guardrail repair.

5) KĪLAUEA

Shoulder closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) east (Lihue) bound between Hookui Road and Wailapa Road on Monday, Sept. 19, through Friday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for clearing of vegetation around high voltage lines.

6) HANALEI (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 1 and 2, vicinity of Hanalei Bridge and Aku Road for guardrail repair and tree and grass cutting. Work days and hours are:

Saturday, Sept. 17, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 19, through Friday, Sept. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

7) WAIKOKO

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 4.4, vicinity of Waikoko Bridge, Monday, Sept. 19, through Friday, Sept. 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree and grass cutting and debris removal.

8) WAIKOKO

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 4 and 4.6, vicinity of Waikoko Bridge and Waikoko Point, Monday, Sept. 19, through Friday, Sept. 23, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for rockfall mitigation.
