Weekly Road Closures: Sept. 10-16

The state Department of Transportation issued its weekly list of road and lane closures for Sept. 10-16. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

1) KALĀHEO

Single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in the east (Lihue) bound direction near mile marker 11, Vicinity of Anuhea Place, Monday, Sept. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for guardrail repair.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

1) WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements.

2) WAILUA

Single lane closure in both directions of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) between mile markers 5.9 and 6, in the vicinity of Kuamo‘o Road, on Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements.

3) WAILUA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Nighttime two lane closure of KūhiōHighway (Route 56) in either direction between mile markers 5.6 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, Sunday, Sept. 11, through Wednesday, Sept. 14, (with the Wednesday night closure ending at 5 a.m. on Thursday) for paving for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements. Nightwork is not allowed between Sept. 15 and Dec. 15 due to Seabird Fallout Season.

4) KAPA‘A (NIGHT WORK)

Lane closure and shift on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the south (Līhu‘e) bound direction between Pouli Road and the Kaua‘i Village Shopping Center entrance on Tuesday, Sept. 13, through Friday, Sept. 16, from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. for permitted utility work.

5) ANAHOLA

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) east (Lihue) bound between mile markers 12.7 and 13.7, vicinity of Ioane Road to Kiwo‘o Loop, Tuesday, Sept. 13, through Friday, Sept. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for guardrail repair.

6) KĪLAUEA

Shoulder closure on‘ Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) east (Lihue) bound between Kalamania Road and Ho‘okui Road, Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for clearing of vegetation around high voltage lines.

7) HANALEI (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 1.2 and 2.3, vicinity of Hanalei Bridge and Aku Road for tree and grass cutting. Work days and hours are: Saturday, Sept. 10, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
8) HANALEI

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 1.3 and 1.6, vicinity of Ohiki Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 13, through Friday, Sept. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for guardrail repair.

9) WAIKOKO

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 4.1 and 4.5, vicinity of Waikoko, Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for rockfall mitigation.

— MA‘ALO ROAD (ROUTE 583) —

1) KAPAIA

Single lane closure on Ma‘alo Road (Route 583) possible in either direction near the mile marker 0 sign at the Hanamaʻulu Stream Bridge, Monday, Sept. 12, through Friday, Sept. 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for tree and grass cutting.
