Kaua‘i Weekly Lane Closures: Sept. 3-9

Hawai‘i Department of Transportation announced weekly lane closures for Sept. 3-9. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

There will be no daytime closures on Monday, September 5, in observance of Labor Day. The Kūhiō Highway Southbound Contraflow in Wailua does not operate on State Holidays.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

KŌLOA (24/7 CONDITION)

Closure of the left turn from Maluhia Road onto westbound Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) for intersection improvements will be in place until the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Single lane closure possible in either direction on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) between mile markers 10 and 12, Akemama Road to vicinity of Haleiwili Road, Tuesday, Sept. 6, through Friday, Sept. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for guardrail repair.

KALĀHEO

Full intermittent closures of the intersection of Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) and Papalina Road/Opu Road, Wednesday, Sept. 7, possible between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for paving equipment mobilization.

‘ELE‘ELE

Single lane closure possible in either direction on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) between mile markers 15.7 and 15.9, Halewili Road to Waialo Road, Tuesday, Sept. 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for intersection guideline application.

Right lane closure possible in either direction on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) between Laukini Road and Hanamalu Road, Tuesday, Sept. 6, through Friday, Sept. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for guardrail repair.

LĪHU‘E

Right lane closure possible in either direction on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) between Kapule Highway and Marine Camp Road, Tuesday, Sept. 6, through Friday, Sept. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.

WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements.

WAILUA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Nighttime two lane closure of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in either direction between mile markers 5.6 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for paving for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements.

Sunday night closure will run from 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, through 6 a.m. Monday, Sept. 5.
Weeknight closures will be from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day on the nights of Tuesday, Sept. 6, Wednesday, Sept. 7, and Thursday, Sept. 8.

ANAHOLA

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile markers 13 and 14, Kukuihale Road to Aliomanu Road, Tuesday, Sept. 6, through Friday, Sept. 9, for guardrail repair.

HANALEI (WEEKEND WORK)

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 1.2 and 2.3, vicinity of Hanalei Bridge and Aku Road, on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for tree and grass cutting.

HANALEI

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 1.2 and 2.3, vicinity of Hanalei Bridge and Aku Road, on Tuesday, Sept. 6, through Friday, Sept. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for drainage clearing and cleaning.

WAIKOKO (WEEKEND WORK)

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.8 and 4.6, vicinity of Waikoko, Saturday, Sept. 3, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree and grass cutting.

WAIKOKO

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 4.1 and 4.5, vicinity of Waikoko, Tuesday, Sept. 6, through Friday, Sept. 9, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. for rockfall mitigation.
