Update: Because of a material shortage with the contractor, road work on Kōke‘e Road near Old Mānā Road, initially scheduled for Sept. 7-8, is postponed until further notice. Updates will be provided when new dates are scheduled.

Original story: Portions of a Kōke‘e roadway will be closed in early September for road resurfacing work, weather permitting.

The county Department of Public Works and contractor Maui Kupono Builders announced that parts of Kōke‘e Road near Old Mānā Road will be closed from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Sept. 7-8.

Motorists are encouraged to make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use alternate routes and allow extra time to get to destinations. No parking will be allowed in the work zones, and flaggers will be positioned at both ends of the work zone to direct traffic.

Anyone with questions can contact Maui Kupono Builders at 808-369-1800 or Todd Ozaki with the county at 808-241-4845.
