Short Lane Closures Scheduled on Sections of Road by King Kaumualiʻi Elementary school

Sections of ‘Akuli Street and Hanamāʻulu Road will be under short lane closures from Aug. 29 to Sept. 9, on weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No work will occur on Sept. 5 in observance of Labor Day.

These closures are necessary for improvements to pedestrian access to the school, including new road striping and sidewalk improvements.

Safe walking routes for students, parents and pedestrians will be provided.

No road work will occur during the peak times for school drop-off and pick-up. Expect brief occasional delays. As a reminder, the speed limit is 15 mph near King Kaumualiʻi Elementary school while school is in session.

The project has an estimated completion date of November 2022. Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.
