Weekly Road Closures: Aug. 13-19

The state Department of Transportation issued its weekly list of road and lane closures for Aug. 13-19. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

1) KŌLOA (24/7 CONDITION)

Closure of the left turn from Maluhia Road onto westbound Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) for intersection improvements. 

2) KŌLOA (WEEKEND WORK)

Single lane closure possible in either direction on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) between mile markers 6.3 and 6.9, vicinity of Maluhia Road, on Saturday, August 13, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for tree trimming.

3) LAWAI TO ‘ELE‘ELE

Roving single lane closure possible in either direction on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) between Upa Road and vicinity of Wai‘alo Road on Monday, August 15, through Friday, August 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repair.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

1) WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kuhio Highway Short-Term Improvements.

2) WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Two lane closure of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in either direction between mile markers 5.6 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, nightly from 8 p.m. Sunday, August 14, through 5 a.m. Thursday, August 18, for paving for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements. The night closure beginning at 8 p.m. Thursday, August 18, will run to 6 a.m. on Friday, August 19.

3) KĪLAUEA

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between Waipa Stream and Lumahai Beach Park, on Monday, August 15, through Friday, August 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for installation of rumble strips and pavement striping.

4) HANALEI

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between Wailapa Road and Kahiliholo Road, on Monday, August 15, through Thursday, August 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree and grass cutting.

— KUAMO‘O ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

1) WAILUA

Single alternating lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction in the vicinity of ‘Āina Pono Street, on Monday, August 15, through Thursday, August 18, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree and grass cutting.
