More Lane Closures Scheduled in Kapa‘a

Road work continues on several Kapa‘a roadways and will require additional lane closures.

The county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC. announced that portions of Mailihuna, Hau‘a‘ala and Kawaihau roads will be closed from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 15-18. The intersection of the three roadways also will experience temporary traffic shifts. Traffic control plans will be in place.

No road work will occur during the peak traffic times for school drop off and pick up. Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.

These closures are necessary for clearing and grubbing work, roadway excavation and sidewalk construction.

Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra travel time when driving near the work area and follow all construction traffic controls.

“Please exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area,” a press release from the county said.
