The Salvation Army is giving residents, businesses and other organizations another chance to donate unneeded items for reuse.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center will be on-site from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Kaua‘i Resource Center located at 3460 Ahukini Road in Līhu‘e. Those interested can bring in unwanted or unneeded items, including clothing, small furniture, children’s toys, books and shoes. Clothing and textiles do not need to be in good condition. Torn or stained clothing is OK.

E-waste, chemicals, appliances or broken items will not be accepted. The public is encouraged to check with local thrift stores to see if they are capable of taking donations before bringing items to the resource center.

Because of health and safety concerns from heavy equipment in the area and to reduce the chance of injury to customers unloading heavy items, the Salvation Army requests the public remains in their vehicles while on-site.
