Lane Closures Scheduled For Sections of Kapa‘a

The county is notifying the public about several lane closures scheduled this week in Kapa‘a.

The Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC. announced that portions of Mailihuna Road, Hau‘a‘ala Road and Kawaihau Road will be closed from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Aug. 8-12. Additionally, the intersection of the three roadways will experience temporary traffic shifts. Traffic control plans will be in place.

No road work will occur during the peak traffic times for school drop off and pick up. Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.

The closures are necessary for clear and grubbing, roadway excavation and sidewalk construction.

Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra travel time when driving near the work area and follow all construction traffic controls.

“Please exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area,” the county said in a press release.
