Portion of Olohena Road in Wailua to Close Aug. 8, 10, 11

The Department of Public Works announces that a portion of Olohena Road near Olohena Bridge No. 2 will be closed on Aug. 8, Aug. 10, and Aug. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., weather permitting.

The periodic closure is necessary to install concrete barriers, signs, and striping on the single-lane Olohena No. 2 Bridge. The bridge is located on Olohena Road, between Kamalu Road and Waipouli Road.

Road work will begin after the morning school traffic and end before the afternoon school traffic. Motorists may expect periodic wait times during the scheduled work hours.

Residents and visitors shall make arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closure, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. Flaggers will be positioned at the ends of the work zone to direct traffic.
