Lane Closures Scheduled For Portions of Kekaha Road, Akialoa Road

Parts of two Kekaha roadways will be closed beginning this week.

The county Department of Public Works and Geolabs Inc. announced that sections of Kekaha Road and Akialoa Road will be under one-lane closures from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. weekdays Aug. 1-10, weather permitting. Portions of the two roadways, from the intersection of Kekaha Road and Kaumuali‘i Highway to the intersection of Akialoa Road and Kaumuali‘i Highway, will be affected.

With school in session, no work will occur near Kekaha Elementary School during peak school traffic times.

The closures are necessary for engineering study work to obtain data for a future project.

Flaggers will be in the area. Motorists should expect brief and occasional delays.
