Lane Closures Scheduled For Portions of Kalāheo
Update: Because of delays with the contractor, work on portions of two Kālaheo roadways has been rescheduled. Work on Pu‘u Road, from Papalina Road near the Kukuiolono Golf Course to Lolo Road, will now occur from Aug. 3-5 during the originally stated time frame. Work on Papalina Road, from Pu‘u Road near the Kukuiolono Golf Course to Kaumuali‘i Highway, will now happen from Aug. 8-11 during the original time periods.
Original story: Several Kālaheo roadways will be closed beginning this week.
The county Department of Public Works and Maui Kupuno Builders announced that lane closures are planned for Pu‘u Road, from Papalina Road near the Kukuiolono Golf Course to Lolo Road, from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays Aug. 2-10 and Papalina Road, from Pu‘u Road near the Kukuiolono Golf Course to Kaumuali‘i Highway, from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. weekdays Aug. 5-10, weather permitting.
The closures are necessary for road resurfacing work.
With school in session, no work will occur on Papalina Road during peak school traffic times.
Motorists should make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use alternate routes and allow extra time to get to destinations.
No parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at both ends of the work zone to direct traffic.
