Lane Closures Scheduled For Sections of Kapa‘a

The county is notifying the public that portions of several roadways in Kapa‘a will be closed at the beginning of next month.

The Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC. announced that parts of Mailihuna, Hau‘a‘ala and Kawaihau roads will be closed from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Aug. 1-5. Additionally, the intersection of the three roadways will experience temporary traffic shifts and temporary traffic control plans will be in place.

With school in session, no road work will happen during the peak traffic times for school drop off and pick up.

The closures are necessary for clearing and grubbing work, roadway excavation and sidewalk construction. Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.

Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra travel time when driving near the work area and follow all traffic controls — exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area.
