The state Department of Transportation issued its weekly road and lane closure list for July 23-29. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

1) WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kūhiō  Highway Short-Term Improvements.

Two lane closure of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in either direction between mile markers 5.6 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, nightly from 8 p.m. Sunday, July 24 through 5 a.m. Friday, July 29 for paving for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements.

3) WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Full closure of the Wailua Mauka Bridge on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between the Kapa‘a Temporary Bypass and Leho Drive nightly from 9 p.m. Monday, July 25 through 5 a.m. Friday, July 29 for geotechnical work. Lihue (south) bound traffic will be contraflowed on the Wailua Plantation Bridge.

4) KAPAA TO KEALIA

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile markers 9 and 10, Kawaihau Road and vicinity of Kealia Beach Park, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repairs.

5) KALIHIWAI

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between mile markers 25 and 26, Kalihiwai Bridge and Princeville Airport, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repairs.

6) HANALEI (WEEKEND WORK)

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.6 and 3.8, between Wai‘oli Bridge and Waipa Bridge, on Saturday, July 23, from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming.

7) HANALEI

ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW AD

Right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.5 and 3.7, between Wai‘oli Bridge and Wai‘pa Bridge, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree trimming.

— WAIMEA CANYON DRIVE (ROUTE 550) —

1) KEKAHA

Right lane closure on Waimea Canyon Drive (Route 550) possible in either direction between mile markers 5 and 10, vicinity of Lakoba Lookout and the end of the route, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repairs.

— KUAMO‘O ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

1) WAILUA

Right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.5 and 4, Pa‘ako Street and Leimomi Street, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree trimming.

2) WAILUA

Single alternating lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.9 and 5, Hawaiians Road and the UH Agricultural Station, on Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., for resurfacing.
