Lane Closures Scheduled For Poʻipū Road
Portions of a Kōloa roadway will be closed beginning this week.
The county Department of Public Works and Pacific Concrete Cutting and Coring Inc. announced that parts of Poʻipū Road will be closed from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. July 21-Aug. 12.
These short lane closures are necessary for improvements to pedestrian access to Kōloa Elementary School, including new sidewalks, crosswalks and ramps that comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Safe walking routes for summer students, parents and pedestrians will be provided.
No road work will occur during the peak traffic times for school drop off and pick up. Expect brief occasional delays. As a reminder, the speed limit is 15 mph near Kōloa Elementary while school is in session.
This project is scheduled to be complete in October. Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other factors.
