Weekly Road Closures: July 16-22

The state Department of Transportation issued its weekly list of road and lane closures for July 16-22. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— KAUMUALI‘I HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

1) KŌLOA

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in either direction between mile markers 4 and 6, Pu‘uana Road to mile marker 6, on Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repair.

2) ‘ŌMA‘O

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in either direction between mile markers 7 and 9, Maluhia Road and Upa Road, on Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repair.

3) ‘ELE‘ELE

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in either direction between mile markers 14 and 16, mile marker 14 to Wai‘alo Road, on Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repair.

4) HANAPEPE

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in either direction between mile markers 16 and 18, Wai‘alo Road to mile marker 18, on Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repair.

5) WAIMEA

Right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) in either direction between mile markers 20 and 22 on Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for guardrail repair.

— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

1) WAILUA (24/7 CONDITION)

Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, for the Kūhiō Highway Short-Term Improvements.

2) WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Two lane closure of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in either direction between mile markers 5.6 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, nightly from 8 p.m. Sunday, July 17 through 5 a.m. Friday, July 22 for paving for the KūhiōHighway Short-Term Improvements.

3) WAILUA (NIGHT WORK)

Full closure of the Wailua Mauka Bridge on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between the Kapa‘a Temporary Bypass and Leho Drive nightly from 9 p.m. Sunday, July 17 through 5 a.m. Friday, July 22 for geotechnical drilling. Lihue (south) bound traffic will be contraflowed on the Wailua Plantation Bridge.

4) HANALEI

Right lane closure on Kūhiō Highway (Route 560) possible in either direction between mile markers 3.4 and 3.9, Wai‘oli Bridge to Wai‘pa Bridge, on Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree cutting and debris removal.

— KUAMO‘O ROAD (ROUTE 580) —

1) WAILUA

Right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) possible in either direction between mile markers 2 and 6, Lilia Place to the end of the route, on Monday, July 18 through Friday, July 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree and grass cutting and filling of drop off areas on the side of the road.
