No injuries were reported after three fishermen were rescued Sunday morning, June 12, after their boat sunk in waters off Nāwiliwili.
The Kaua‘i Fire Department reported Monday, June 13, that Līhu‘e firefighters were called shortly before 9:30 a.m. Sunday to assist the U.S. Coast Guard at Nāwiliwili Harbor after getting a report of three fisherman who were near Kawai Point when they ran into problems with their boat, which was a rigid hulled inflatable.

The three fishermen did not report any injuries and were released at the scene.
Responding personnel cleared the scene at about 11 a.m. Sunday.
According to officials, the distressed vessel was later towed back to the Nāwiliwili boat ramp by the Coast Guard.
