Per Tradition, Rodeo Kicks off Kōloa Plantation Days Festival

For 21 years, the Paniolo Heritage Rodeo at CJM Country Stables in Po‘ipū, has opened the Kōloa Plantation Days Festival in July.

This year will be no exception.

On July 22, 23, and 24. The Kaua‘i Roping & Rodeo Club perpetuates the authentic cultural experience of today’s unique Hawaiian Paniolo lifestyle and heritage.

For three days, crowds cheer-on the high-stake races, bold, fast-action ride and roping sports, family fun and extreme excitement at CJM Country Stable’s ocean-view, open air arena. Competitors rival skill and nerves for largest prize monies ever. Our audience experience is heightened with ono local paniolo fare, the beer garden, vendors, exhibits, entertainment, and more.

This year, online pre-ticketing is simple on KauaiRodeo.com with our new, innovative QR Code for one day for $10/person or a full three-day ticket for $25. Keiki, under 18 with ticked adult, are admitted free.

Friday, July 22, gates open at 4 p.m. Action starts at 5 p.m. with a grand entry including a historical re-enactment with Captain Vancouver, cows, and King Kamehameha. Then hold on for barrels, broncs, wild bulls and high dollar roping. Music in the country after the events continues into the evening.
