Parents, mark your calendars. Registration for the county’s Summer Fun program opens next week.

Online registration for the county Department of Parks and Recreation’s program for keiki 5-11 years old begins at 8 a.m. Monday, May 16, on the county website.

The Summer Fun program runs from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays June 13-July 22, except on Independence Day, July 4. Program sites include the Kīlauea, Kapa‘a, Līhu‘e, Kalāheo, Hanapēpē, and Kekaha neighborhood centers, as well as the Anahola Clubhouse.

The cost to attend the program is $75 per child, which includes lunch. All major credit cards will be accepted for payment, as well as debit and pre-paid credit cards.

Enrollment is limited and will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Because of a recent software upgrade, everyone is encouraged to create a household account or update their current account before May 16 by visiting the website above. Those who need assistance with their account can contact the neighborhood center in their community.
