Public Libraries Celebrate Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month 

Readers of all ages are invited to join the state’s public libraries in celebrating Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander Heritage Month.

The Hawai‘i State Public Library System is conducting a reading challenge throughout May in observance of the special month. Readers can log reading minutes, find recommended reading lists and explore links to virtual experiences and resources in honor of the month’s reading challenge theme.

Active participants also will be entered for a chance to win prizes provided by the Friends of the Library of Hawai‘i.

A special online program with artist and illustrator Solomon Enos is planned for noon Saturday, May 21. Enos will talk story about his art and the concept of Hawaiian science fiction, followed by a question-and-answer session. To register for the event, click here.
