Island residents, businesses and organizations looking to donate unwanted or unneeded items for reuse will again have the chance at the end of this month.

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center will be on-site from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the Kaua‘i Resource Center, accepting donations. The Kaua‘i Resource Center is located at 3460 Ahukini Road in Līhu‘e.

The ARC will be accepting unwanted or unneeded items for reuse, including clothing, small furniture, children’s toys, books and shoes. Clothing and textiles do not need to be in good condition; torn or stained clothing is fine.

E-waste, chemicals, appliances or broken items will not be accepted.

Because of health and safety concerns in connection with heavy equipment in the area and to reduce the chance of injury to customers unloading heavy items, the Salvation Army requests those dropping off donations remain in their vehicles while on-site.

The ARC also offers pick-up services to thrift stores and businesses. Call 808-241-4336 to schedule new service. For people who want home pick-up service, contact Habitat for Humanity Restore at 808-335-6105 or RP’s Random Closet at 808-346-0020.

For information about general recycling or reuse, call 808-241-4841, click here or click here.
