Update:

The Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia crews continue to wait in Hilo for the winds to shift so they can successfully depart and set sail for Tahiti.

Departure now appears to happen on Monday.

The crew of voyaging canoes Hōkūleʻa and Hikianalia are prepared and ready to go, but they are waiting in Hilo for favorable winds so they can set sail for Tahiti. They are now tentatively scheduled to depart on Easter Sunday.

While in Hilo, the crew has been busy provisioning the canoes and taking care of final voyage preparations. Depending on the weather, the voyage to Tahiti will take approximately 20 days.
