No Threat Following Early Morning ‘Quakes

No tsunami threat is imminent for Kaua‘i or Ni‘ihau after a pair of early morning earthquakes around Hawai‘i, the Emergency Management Agency stated Friday, April 15.

A magnitude 4.5 occurred shortly before 2 a.m. in the southwest rift zone of Kīlauea Volcano, on Hhawaii followed by another 4.5M earthquake nine seconds later.
