Missing Diver Identified

The missing person recovered this morning has been identified as 39-year-old Shane Uzzel of Hudson, Florida, police reported. Previous statements erroneously shared that the subject was 28 years old.

He was reportedly cliff diving in the early morning in the waters off Nawiliwili when he was swept out to sea. The friend he was with lost track of him and reported him missing shortly after. Upon conducting a joint search and rescue operation, a Coast Guard cutter recovered Uzzel and resuscitation efforts commenced. He was transported to Wilcox Hospital and declared deceased at 7:45 a.m.
