The Blood Bank of Hawaiʻi is scheduled to return to the Garden Isle for a three-day drive event this month with the goal of registering 180 donors per day.

The drive will take place from April 19 to April 21 and will be held at the Sheraton Kauaʻi Coconut Beach Resort in Kapaa.

“We’re excited to be returning to Kauaʻi and grateful for our donors who continue to dedicate themselves to saving lives,” said Todd Lewis, chief operating officer of Blood Bank of Hawaiʻi. “We also want to remind the community that new donors are always welcome, as well as all blood types.”

Although the statewide mask mandate recently ended, Blood Bank of Hawaiʻi staff and donors will be required to wear a face-covering during the blood drive. The schedule for the drive is below:

  • Tuesday, April 19 – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 20 – 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 21 – 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Each donation can save up to three lives. Healthy donors interested in giving blood may register at bbh.org or call 808-848-4770. As a reminder, an appointment is required as walk-ins can no longer be accommodated.

Drive dates and times are subject to change. Individuals with questions about operations during COVID-19 may visit bbh.org/COVID-19 or connect via social media at @BloodBankHawaii.
