Update: Flash Flood Warning Issued
UPDATE:
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for the island today.
A flood advisory had been issued before the warning. Information will be updated as it becomes available.
At 8:26 a.m., radar indicated heavy rain over the windward and north shores of Kaua‘i. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Some locations that will experience flooding include Līhu‘e, Kapa‘a, Princeville, Kilauea, North Fork Wailua Trails, Hanalei, Wailua Homesteads, Alakai Swamp Trails, Wainiha, Wailua, Ha‘ena, Koke‘e State Park, Na Pali State Park, Moloa‘a, Anahola, Kalihiwai, Wailua River State Park, Puhi, Hanamaulu and Kealia.
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 1130 AM HST if flooding persists.

A flood advisory is in effect until 8:30 a.m. for the entire island.
The National Weather Service reports that at 5:16 a.m., radar indicated heavy rain over the island of
Kauai. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour islandwide.
Impacts include minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in streams. Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding.
This advisory may need to be extended beyond 8:30 a.m. if flooding persists.
