Update: Both lanes of Kūhiō Highway in the vicinity of Hanalei Bridge are open.

The National Weather Service has canceled a flash flood warning for the island of Kaua‘i. Kūhiō Highway in the vicinity of the Hanalei Bridge has reopened to one lane of alternating traffic.

A flash flood watch is currently in effect for Kaua‘i through 6 a.m., March 23.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Residents and visitors should monitor the weather and be prepared to take action in the event that a Flash Flood Warning is issued.
