High Surf Advisory Issued For Portions of Kaua‘i , Ni‘ihau

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a high surf advisory for the north- and west-facing shores of Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau.

The advisory goes into effect at 6 a.m. Monday, March 14, and is set to expire at 6 a.m. Tuesday, March 15.

According to the advisory, large breaking waves of 14-18 feet are forecast along north- and west-facing shores of the two islands.

Expect strong breaking waves, shore break and strong longshore and rip currents, making swimming difficult and dangerous.

Beachgoers, swimmers and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
