Manhole repair and adjustment work along portions of Kaneka Street in Līhu‘e will require lane closures next week.

The county Department of Public Works and its contractor, Maui Kupono Builders, announced in a news release that portions of Kaneka Street, between Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School and Puhi Park, will be closed from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, for the work, weather permitting.

The remaining open lanes will accommodate alternating traffic in both directions, with flaggers positioned at the ends of the closures to direct traffic.

Motorists should make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the closures, use alternate routes and allow extra time to get to their destinations. Also during this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones.

Anyone with questions can contact Maui Kupono Builders at 808-369-1800 or Todd Ozaki at the county at 808-241-4845.
