Lane Closures Scheduled For Mailihuna Road

Construction work will require periodic one-lane closures on Mailihuna Road next week.

The county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC. announced in a news release that portions of Mailihuna Road will be closed from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. March 7-11. Additionally, the makai driveway to Kapaʻa High School’s office will be closed until March 21.

The news release says the periodic one-lane closures on Mailihuna Road are necessary for sidewalk construction, driveway construction and roadway excavation.

Motorists are encouraged to allow for extra travel time when driving near the work area and follow all construction traffic controls. Exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area.
