The National Weather Service has extended the high surf advisory for north- and west-facing shores of Kauaʻi and Niʻihau to noon.

Surf is expected to be 12 to 16 feet along north-facing shores, and 8 to 12 feet along west-facing shores.

Beachgoers should expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous. Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by
ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
