Voting in the special election for county prosecuting attorney begins at the end of this week.

The Office of the County Clerk Elections Division announced in a public service announcement that the voter service center for the special election will be open beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11.

The VSC will be located in the basement of the county annex building in Līhu‘e.

The voter service center offers accessible in-person voting and same-day registration. It also serves as a mail ballot collection site.

Accessible in-person voting and same-day registration services are only for voters who have not yet returned a voted mail ballot or for unregistered individuals wanting to register and vote.

Services will be offered during the following dates and times:

  • 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, Feb. 11-25 (closed Sundays and on Feb. 21 in observance of Presidents Day)
  • 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Feb. 26 (day of special election)

While inside the VSC, voters should wear a mask covering their nose and mouth and maintain 6 feet of separation from nearby individuals. Voters also could experience longer than desired wait times as only a limited number of voters will be allowed to enter the voting area at any given time.

However, any voter in line at the time of closing will be allowed to vote.
