Lane Closures Scheduled for Mailihuna Road

Construction work will require one lane of Mailihuna Road to be periodically closed next week.

According to a news release from the county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC., a portion of Mailihuna Road will be closed from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Feb. 14-18, weather permitting.

The periodic one-lane closures are necessary for sidewalk construction, driveway construction and roadway excavation. A temporary traffic detour will be available through Kolohala Road.

Motorists are advised to expect brief and occasional delays.

Exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area and along the detour route, which is narrow and near homes.
