The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center next week will accept donations of items that can be reused, including clothing, books and others.

According to a news release from the county Department of Public Works, the ARC will be on-site from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at the Kaua‘i Resource Center.

Residents, businesses and other organizations can bring in unwanted or unneeded items for reuse, including clothing, small furniture, children’s toys, books and shoes. Clothing and textiles do not need to be in good condition. Torn or stained clothing is OK.

E-waste, chemicals, appliances or broken items will not be accepted.

The public is also encouraged to check with local thrift stores to see if they can take donations before bringing items to the KRC.

Because of health and safety concerns from heavy equipment in the area and to reduce the chance of injury to customers unloading heavy items, the Salvation Army requests those bringing items remain in their vehicle while at the resource center.

The ARC also offers pick-up services to thrift stores and businesses. Call 241-4336 to schedule a new service.
