The Kaua‘i Bus announced Thursday, Feb. 3, that multiple changes are planned to routes 100 and 30, including a new bus stop in ‘Ele‘ele Nani.

The changes take effect beginning Monday, Feb. 14.

“Our ‘Ele‘ele bus stops provide an estimated 600 monthly rides to passengers in the surrounding area for various reasons, including trips to and from work, medical appointments and leisure activities,” said Kaua‘i County Transportation Agency Executive Celia Mahikoa. “We are excited to add this new bus stop which will improve service and provide a more convenient option for our riders.”

The new bus stop will be located on Kaumuali‘i Highway at the Mahea Road intersection, and will be serviced by Route 100 (Kekaha to Līhu‘e).

Changes to Route 100 and Route 30 (Kōloa Shuttle) are as follows:

  • Service will be discontinued at the Kaua‘i Coffee Visitor Center bus stop.
  • The Brydeswood bus stop will be moved exclusively to Route 30 and serviced hourly from 6:09 a.m.-8:09 p.m.
  • The Route 30 schedule will adjust to start at 6:05 a.m. from Kalāheo Neighborhood Center.

“It is our hope that as transportation needs continue to grow on Kaua‘i, our transit system will also grow to meet the demand and provide necessary service throughout the island,” Mahikoa said.
