High Surf Advisory Issued for Kauaʻi, Niʻihau

A high surf advisory is in effect for Kauaʻi and Niʻihau until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2.

According to the National Weather Service, surf heights will build to 14 to 18 feet along north-facing
shores 10 to 14 feet along west-facing shores.

Impacts are anticipated to be moderate. Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.

Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
