A high surf advisory was issued this morning, extending until 6 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, for north facing shores of Ni‘ihau, Kaua‘i, O‘ahu, Moloka‘i, and Maui.
Surf could build to 12 to 16 feet, the National Weather Service cautioned.
Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult
and dangerous. Beachgoers, swimmers, and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
