Lane Closures Planned Along Portions of Ōma‘o Road

Lane closures are planned along portions of Ōma‘o Road next week as road resurfacing work continues.

The county Department of Public Works and contractor Maui Kupuno Builders advised the public Tuesday in a press release that lane closures and one-way traffic along Ōma‘o Road will be in effect from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays while resurfacing work continues from Jan. 31-Feb. 4 near the Kaumuali‘i Highway intersection.

All work is weather permitting and the schedule is subject to changes.

Ōma‘o Road will be closed at Kōloa Road to all northbound traffic. Only southbound traffic from Kaumuali‘i Highway will be allowed through the work zone.

Signs and flaggers will be positioned along the closure to direct traffic through the work zone. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work area.

Motorists should make appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary closures and adjusted traffic flow, use alternate routes and allow for extra time to get to their destinations.
