The National Weather Service has extended its high surf advisory for north- and west-facing shores of Niʻihau and Kauaʻi till 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24.

Surf along north-facing shores is expected to be 10-15 feet. Surf is expected to be eight to 12 feet along west-facing shores.

Impacts are anticipated to be moderate. Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong longshore and rip currents making swimming difficult and dangerous.

Beachgoers, swimmers and surfers should heed all advice given by ocean safety officials and exercise caution.
