Staffing issues force temporary closures of Kaua‘i Community Recycling Services in Kīlauea and Puhi Metals in Puhi.

KCRS is open in Kapaʻa from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kauaʻi County officials say staffing issues may impact their ability to operate all of their HI5 redemption centers. For more information on HI5 Redemption Centers, visit https://www.kauai.gov/HI5.

County officials say they anticipate a one to two-day closure at Puhi Metals. Residents may bring their scrap metal and appliances to any transfer station on the island. Līhu‘e Refuse transfer station does not accept appliances.
