Closures Planned on Several Roadways Next Week

The county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC. announced Thursday that lane closures for portions of Mailihuna Road and Kawaihau Road and the full closure of a part of Hau‘a‘ala Road are planned for next week.

The closures are scheduled for Jan. 24-28. Periodic one-lane closures on Kawaihau and Mailihuna roads and the full closure of Hau‘a‘ala Road are necessary for sidewalk construction, roadway excavation and waterline probing work.

Hau‘a‘ala Road will be closed in the vicinity of Kolohala Road and Kawaihau Road. A temporary traffic detour route will be available through Kolohala Road.

Motorists are advised to expect brief and occasional delays. Exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area and along the detour route, which is narrow and near the homes of residents.
