Lane Closures Planned for Mailihuna Road

The county Department of Public Works and Grace Pacific LLC. announced Wednesday that a portion of Mailihuna Road near Kolohala and Kawaihau roads will be closed from 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Jan. 18-21.

The periodic one-lane closures are necessary for sidewalk construction and roadway excavation work.

A temporary traffic detour route will be available through Kolohala Road and Hau‘a‘ala Road. Motorists are advised to expect brief and occasional delays.

Motorists should exercise caution and drive slowly when commuting through the work area and along the detour route, which is narrow and near homes.
