Kauaʻi County records its highest seven-day case average of 164 COVID cases per day since the onset of the pandemic nearly two years ago.

The test positivity rate is 17%, which means one of every six people tested for COVID tests positive for the virus. There are currently 1,082 active cases, with 11 persons hospitalized.

Kauaʻi has a cumulative case count of 5,776 and 19 total fatalities. Most recently, the death of a 40-year-old resident last week was the most recent COVID-related fatality.
