The state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announced 117 new COVID cases Tuesday.

Tuesday’s case numbers bring the total number of active cases on the island to 591, with seven hospitalized, and 4,553 cumulative cases. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 4,482 confirmed locally, eight probable and 63 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere — which includes two of today’s cases, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on the island.

If you test positive for COVID-19, isolate yourself at home immediately and notify your close contacts.

Because of the high volume of cases, it could take DOH investigators and contact tracers a few days to contact you after you received a positive test.
