Kaua‘i Road Closures: Dec. 18-24
The following list is for lane closures on Kaua‘i for the week of Dec. 18-24. Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.
There will be no daytime roadwork scheduled on Friday, Dec. 24, in observance of Christmas Day, unless permitted. Kūhiō Highway special use lanes will not be operational.
— KŪHIŌ HIGHWAY (ROUTE 56) —
1) WAILUA (24-HOUR/WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.6, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a Bypass, on Saturday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 24, 24-hours-a-day, for road and shoulder work.
2) ANAHOLA (24-HOUR/WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)
Shoulder closure and lane shift on Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) in the southbound direction in the vicinity of the milepost 12 sign to Kukuihale Road, on Saturday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 24, 24-hours a day to allow crews to work on center-lane widening without lane closure.
3) KILAUEA (WEEKEND WORK)
Right lane closure of Kūhiō Highway (Route 56) possible in either direction between vicinity of Moloa‘a Stream/Kapuna Road and Waiakalua Street, on Saturday, Dec. 18, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for grass cutting and drain cleaning work. Work will begin in the northbound direction and will switch to southbound once northbound landscaping is completed. Travel in both directions will be maintained with alternating traffic control (contraflow).
