Emergency Water Service Shutdown Scheduled in Wailua Homesteads

The Department of Water (DOW) announces an emergency water service shutdown and partial lane closure planned for a portion of Kuamo‘o Road in Wailua Homesteads from 08:30 a.m. to noon, weather permitting.

Water service will be turned off on a portion of Kuamo‘o Road and includes Hie Street, Iliki Street, Molo Street and Alahele Street, in order to conduct repairs to the mainline.

Additionally, a one-lane closure will be set in place on Kuamo‘o Road from Lihau Street to Pa’ako Street. Flagger personnel will be on-site to assist with traffic flow.

Affected customers are advised to prepare for the scheduled shutdown by taking the following steps:

• Store enough water to meet your needs until water service can be restored.
• Notify neighbors, family and friends that may be affected by the service shutdown.
• Those with faulty water heaters should ensure that their water heaters do not empty during the outage.
• Businesses should plan accordingly for a water service shutdown.
