The state is seeking a person from Kauaʻi to serve on the Board of Land and Natural Resources.

The Kauaʻi County seat, currently occupied by Tommy Oi for eight consecutive years, will be vacant April 25, 2022. Applicants and nominees must be residents of Kauaʻi County.

BLNR members are nominated and, by and with the advice and consent of the state Senate, appointed by the governor for a term of four years. The board reviews and takes action on departmental submittals, including land leases and conservation district use applications, during its two meetings each month, or more when necessary, on Oʻahu.

Applicants should have balanced and inclusive perspectives and be committed to the conservation, protection and sustainable use of the state’s natural and cultural resources. A background in conservation and natural resources and/or real property law and land transactions is particularly helpful.
