142 New COVID Cases Confirmed Statewide

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 142 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the statewide total to 86,090. Eight new COVID-related fatalities were reported.

Kauaʻi County still has the highest test positivity rate in the state despite the decrease to 2.9%. According to DOH, the Garden Isle is reporting 15 new cases on a seven-day average.

The state’s seven-day average is now 88 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.5%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 58,778
Hawai‘i: 11,435
Maui: 9,752
Kaua‘i: 2,915
Moloka‘i: 245
Lana‘i: 145
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 2,820

A total of 4,918 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 985 have died.
