Kauaʻi County Holds Highest Positivity Rate for COVID Cases in State

Kauaʻi County has the highest positivity rate for COVID-19 cases in the state at 4.6%

According to the Department of Health, the seven-day average for the number of cases is 17. As of Wednesday, Nov. 10, the county has 128 active cases, with eight hospitalized.

Twenty-four new cases of COVID-19 were announced by the Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office this afternoon. Today’s cases are all residents.

Of the 24 new cases, eight are children and 16 are adults. One of the cases is related to interisland travel. The remaining 23 cases are considered community-acquired. Seventeen of the community-acquired infections are close contacts of a previously announced case or are tied to an active cluster.

The remaining six cases have no known source of infection, including two whom investigators have been unable to reach after repeated attempts or who have refused to provide information.

Kauaʻi County’s cumulative total of COVID cases now sits at 2,886. Kaua‘i’s cumulative case count includes 2,827 confirmed locally, eight probable, and 51 positive cases diagnosed elsewhere, as they received their pre-travel test results after arriving on island.
