79 New COVID Cases Reported Statewide

The Hawaiʻi Department of Health reported 79 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing the statewide total to 85,218. No new COVID-related fatalities were reported.

A total of 21 new infections were identified on the Big Island Tuesday.

The state’s seven-day average is now 104 new cases daily, with a test positivity rate of 1.8%.

The island-by-island case count is as follows:

O‘ahu: 58,356
Hawai‘i: 11,279
Maui: 9,640
Kaua‘i: 2,792
Moloka‘i: 243
Lana‘i: 144
Pending: 0
Out-of-State: 2,764

A total of 4,833 individuals have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19 infection since the pandemic began, while at least 962 have died.
